Audiology & Speech Sciences
The School of Audiology and Speech Sciences offers a PhD program in Audiology or Speech-Language Pathology. The program opens many doors, both inside and outside of academia, and provides the skills to carry out one’s own research, as well as to participate in research teams.
Biochemistry & Molecular Biology
The Biochemistry & Molecular Biology Program is part of UBC’s Life Sciences Institute. Students have the opportunity to collaborate with researchers from a wide range of disciplines.
Cell & Developmental Biology
Offers opportunities for advanced study and research in cell and developmental biology through a coordinated program of studies. The program is flexible and is intended to accommodate the diverse backgrounds of students and the broad nature of research in cell and developmental biology.
Experimental Medicine
The study of the pathogenesis and treatment of disease. Specialties include: Cardiology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Hematology, Infectious Diseases, Medical Immunology, Medical Oncology, Molecular Biology, Nephrology, Neurology and Respiratory Medicine.

Designed to appeal to a broad range of students interested in cancer research.
Neuroscience
A multidisciplinary program administered under the Faculty of Medicine and the Brain Research Centre at UBC.
Pathology & Laboratory Medicine
Trains students with varied backgrounds in science and medicine including: biochemistry, physiology, cell biology and microbiology/immunology.
Rehabilitation Sciences
The study of physical and occupational performance with special emphasis on individuals with impairments and disabilities.

Designed for working health professionals who wish to gain the knowledge to impact care and shape future practice.
Health Administration
The MHA program integrates skills and ideas unique to health care administration with advanced health care and management concepts.
Health Sciences
The MHSc degree is a professional degree designed to give the graduate strong research methodology skills that can be applied to their academic and clinical interests.
Population and Public Health
Students can pursue thesis research in a wide variety of topics related to the health of populations and the delivery of health services.

Combined MD/PhD
A 7-year program designed for students who want to pursue a career as clinician-scientists. This program provides highly-qualified students with the opportunity to combine their medical school experience with intensive scientific training.
