China Scholarship Council

Introduction

The University of British Columbia (UBC) is very pleased to receive applications from excellent Chinese students who will be applying for China Scholarship Council (CSC) doctoral scholarships. UBC is one of the world’s top universities with outstanding research facilities and faculty mentors. It is located in Vancouver, Canada—one of the most beautiful, cosmopolitan and diverse cities in North America.

Applying to UBC

  1. Determine which program you’d like to apply to and visit their website to learn more. Click here for a list of Graduate Degree Programs at UBC.
  2. Collect the required transcripts and reference letters. Read more about the application procedure.
  3. Take the TOEFL or IELTS test, and ensure your test results are sent to the University of British Columbia (institution code: 0965)
  4. Investigate faculty members in the graduate program you intend to apply to. Many graduate programs recommend that before applying, you make contact via email with a faculty member in the department under whose mentorship you would like to study. This person may be able to support your application in the selection process.   5. Apply online and arrange to have your transcripts and letters sent to the graduate program you are applying to. Be sure to indicate on the application that you will apply for the CSC scholarship.
  6. Once you have received an offer of admission from UBC, apply to the CSC doctoral scholarship program via your current University. Visit the China Scholarship Council website for more information.
